How to Use Silicone Bakeware Molds
Silicone bakeware has been in use commercially for several years but it's still quite new to the home market. It is easy to use and works better than non-stick bakeware. Though they need greasing, silicone molds are flexible and quick releasing, You can even peel off the mold if your baked products do not release easily. Silicone baking molds can withstand temperatures up to 500 F. Follows the instructions as below as you first use the bakeware molds.
Wash the silicone molds before using them if they are new. Although the mold are dishwasher-safe, it is advisable to hand wash them in hot soapy water. Avoid using scouring pads or harsh cleaners to clean them.
Grease the mold using vegetable oil or a non-stick cooking spray. Spray or spread the oil evenly, making sure to reach the corners and edges.
Place a metal cookie sheet below your silicone baking mold to hold it properly. Silicone molds are highly flexible and pliable. The cookie sheet will also ensure that you can remove the mold easily, without spilling or burning yourself.
Once your baking is done, let the silicone mold cool in the oven for five minutes. Remove carefully from the oven, and follow recipe instructions for removing the product from the mold when warm.
5.Unmold the baked product from the silicone mold. Since silicone is pliable, you can even peel away the mold from the baked product.
